A dog-friendly beach that has a large sandy bay, which at low tide forms part of the sandy beaches and mussel banks of Conwy Bay. It is good for fishing, has a marina nearby and is next to a golf course. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants close by in the historic town of Conwy. The beach area is also good for bird watching. This is a great beach for sandcastles, paddling, and enjoying the scenery. There is free parking and in the Summer you will find the ice cream van here - please note there is no lifeguard at this beach.
As well as being a great dog walk, this is a popular lakeside picnic spot which was reputedly the home of the 6th century poet Taliesin and a stone monument to him stands by the lake’s north bank. Lakeside for us dog owners generally means an opportunity for the dog to jump in there and enjoy a swim. The circular waymarked walking trail from Llyn Geirionydd through the forest to the nearby lake of Llyn Cranfant is pretty flat and easy to navigate and includes passing through a kissing gate. Enjoy views of the lakes and the mountains along the way. There is a toilet in the car park and a bench with a viewpoint above Cranfant.
A circular walk from the top of the Sychnant Pass taking you over open access land for spectacular views of the Conwy Valley, Carneddau mountain range, the Great Orme headland and the coast. There are no dog poo bins on the route so encourage your dog to go near the carpark so you can leave your bag at the car. There are wild ponies on the pass so be mindful if your dogs are inquisitive. Explore a landscape rich in archaeological features from stone circles to medieval hafotai (summer houses)
